Amara helped fund the costs for Nana Woodley to raise an orphaned leopard cub to wild release. Mtito the leopard was only 5 weeks old and quite ill when found. He could not have survived on his own in the wild. Nana, an experienced conservationist, fed him from a bottle and bonded with him, caring for him as he grew up. Initially that meant living in their house, then to an enclosure just outside, and ultimately to a boma further into the bush.
Walking him out in the bush for hours each day for over a year, as he learned to hunt and be a grown up leopard – until he was able to live on his own in Tsavo.
A real success story, and Amara was fortunate enough to be involved!
